From Lloret de Mar, this route invites us to discover the most authentic inland before returning to the stunning Costa Brava. We drive along quiet secondary roads, passing through historic villages such as Caldes de Malavella, known for its thermal springs, and ascend Terra Negra, a demanding climb surrounded by nature. A balanced route that combines history, effort and spectacular scenery.

We start the route from the Lloret de Mar Central Tourist Office, located at Carrer Alegries, 3, and head north along the GI-660 road towards Vidreres.
This first stretch of road has a considerable amount of traffic, especially at peak times for entering and leaving work, between 8:00 and 9:30 in the morning and between 17:00 and 19:00 in the evening, when it is advisable to avoid it.
We leave Vidreres behind us and continue along the C-63 towards Sils. This section of the route is flatter and faster, ideal for maintaining a good pace before the most demanding sections of the day. The pedalling here is fluid, surrounded by a peaceful landscape with the lake of Sils, an ancient wetland of great ecological value and a refuge for migratory birds.
Leaving Sils, we continue along the GI-555 and then the GI-673 towards Caldes de Malavella, a secondary road that runs through agricultural areas and Mediterranean forests. This section offers comfortable terrain, perfect for riding in a group, and allows you to enjoy the typical combination of holm oak forests and cultivated fields that are so characteristic of this area. Caldes de Malavella, known for its thermal springs and Roman remains, is an emblematic point on the route.
We leave Caldes de Malavella taking the GI-674 to Llagostera, where we reach the most demanding section of the day. We head towards Tossa de Mar along the GI-681, a mountain road that will take us through the area known as Terra Negra. Here we find a climb with sustained slopes that will put our legs to the test, but the reward comes at the top, with a spectacular descent towards Tossa de Mar, surrounded by forest and with spectacular views.
The final section of the route takes us from Tossa de Mar to Lloret de Mar along the GI-682, a road known for its curves and spectacular views of the sea. This stretch, although not long, has constant climbs and descents that put the legs to the test after the accumulated kilometres. Each bend in this road offers a different postcard view of the coast, with hidden coves, crystal-clear waters and the intense blue of the Mediterranean on the horizon. An end to a route that combines effort and beauty in equal measure.
Finally, we reach Lloret de Mar again, completing a varied route that combines inland roads with coastal stretches, offering a complete experience for cycling enthusiasts.
Points of interest
Sils Pond: Former wetland of high ecological value, located in the Selva plain. Today, it is one of the most important wetlands in Catalonia, a natural habitat that is home to numerous species of migratory birds and stands out for its scenic and environmental interest.
Caldes de Malavella: Known for its thermal waters and its Roman heritage, with archaeological remains such as the Roman Baths.
Tossa de Mar: This former fishing village is easily recognisable by its characteristic profile, dominated by the tower of the walled enclosure of its medieval town. Tossa has retained an aura of glamour since 1951, when it was the setting for the film Pandora and the Flying Dutchman, starring Ava Gardner, James Mason and the bullfighter Màrius Cabré.
